These earrings are designed with the flat round shape known as the Ndoro as an inspiration.  This is a traditional Great Zimbabwean symbol of wealth and status.  During the middle ages, Ndoro's were used as Zimbabwe's first form of currency.  Now it is similar to the Golden Mean Spiral also known as the Door of Love.  It therefore gives the wearer a sense of mystical reassurance.
